CANCELLATION POLICY: Registrations must be cancelled on or before June 1, 2022 in order to receive a full refund (minus transaction fees). Any cancellation requests made after June, 1 2022 and up to two weeks before the start of each session will be refunded in the form of credit to use on future purchases. Cancellations made less than two weeks before the start of each session will receive a $100 penalty.

BEGINNER MERCURY
This class is recommended for kids ages 6-12 who have little to no previous sailing experience. The youngest "Harbor Mice" stay close, but the older beginners can venture widely and sail in groups of two to four aboard 15' classic Mercury keel-boats. Students will learn the basic sailing knowledge, skills, and seamanship.

BLUE DRAGON PRAM
INTRO TO OPTI
This class is recommended for students ages 8-12 who are under 120 lbs with some prior boating experience. During the 2-week session sailors will learn to handle a boat solo, sail to an upwind destination without coaching, and recover from a capsize. This class is great for students who would like to eventually join our Optimist race class. We recommend 4-6 weeks here.

INTERMEDIATE OPTIMIST

ADVENTURE SAILING
For intermediate sailors 11 years and older. The goal for this class is to learn adventuring skills such as navigation, docking, and mooring landings. This is a non-race oriented class where students are expected to take the helm, trim the sails, navigate, and learn seamanship skills.
Beginners and Intermediates use J22s, and Collegiate 420s. More advanced sailors will be spinnaker flying on J22s and may try windsurfing. Typical class will separate the students into "crews" of 3-5 based on age and sailing ability, each crew will start with instructor in the boat. This a full day class so pack a lunch!

OPTI RACE TEAM
Recommended ages 8-14 and under 130lbs.
Our Opti race team is comprised of both Opti Green and RWB sailors. Opti Green is for the beginner racer who will learn the ins and outs of how to make their boat go fast, racing strategies and tactics, and the racing rules of sailing.
Once an Opti Green sailor masters the basics of racing and performs well at local regattas they will then graduate to Opti RWB where they will continue to improve and learn more advance techniques, sail setup, and strategies.
Racing students should expect to spend more time practicing in all weather conditions. Racers and parents should be prepared to regattas throughout the summer. A usual summer comprises of three 1-day regattas and the 3-day Junior Race Week towards the end of summer. more info: nbya.org
Students are required to bring their own boats. Used Optimist can easily be located and if you have questions regarding the purchase of a boat please don't hesitate to contact the Program Director. EBSF has a very limited number of boats available for charter.

420 RACE TEAM
This class is recommended for students of ages 13-17 who have mastered their basic sailing and seamanship skills. Students in this class will hone their boat handling and sail trim skills, and learn the strategies, tactics, and rules of racing. Successful racing requires good equipment, good technique, and a lot of practice. Experience and training is the name of the game. Racing students should expect to spend more time practicing in all weather conditions. Racers and parents should be prepared to travel to several events throughout the summer.
