Beginning Optimist
This
class is recommended for students ages 9 and older, or who have
completed two seasons in a previous class. Beginning Opti sailors will
review the skills learned in Mercury sailing, and develop new skills to
become confident, independent sailors. Throughout the summer, handling a
boat solo, capsize recovery, and sailing to an upwind destination
without coaching will be among the new experiences.

EBSF will be offering Optimist 1 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Optimist 2 will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both classes meet for either 4 or 8 weeks from 9-4. Optimist 2 is only available for students who have already had one season in Beginning Opti. If enrolling in Opti 1, you have to attend session 1. Please see below for complete summer schedule. | Sailing is a very weather effected activity, and all of our classes run
rain or shine. Here in the northeast the weather can change on short
