Advanced
This class is recommended for students of ages 12-18 who are confident in their understanding of basic rigging and boat handling. Advanced sailors will take their skills to the next level by sailing Mercuries and 420s in more diverse weather conditions. Advanced skills such as boat performance, reading wind and weather, navigation, and right of way rules will be a focus in this group. This is a great class for students who are very confident in their sailing foundation, want to continue to learn more, but are not interested in racing. The goal of advanced sailing is to create independent sailors who have the skills required to confidently operate a variety of sailing vessels in a wide range of conditions. Some opportunity may exist for older sailors in this group to improve their skills by assisting with the instruction of younger students.
